Rockland Airborne Survey Commences at Retty Lake, Labrador Trough, Québec

For Immediate Release. Vancouver, British Columbia, August 5, 2010: Rockland Minerals Corp. (TSX Venture: RL) (the "Company") is pleased to report that a helicopter-borne electromagnetic and magnetic survey has commenced over the Company's Retty Lake copper-nickel-PGE property near Schefferville, Québec. The helicopter-borne survey is being flown by Geo Data Solutions, Inc. of Laval, Québec and will cover approximately 1750 line-kilometres.

The Retty Lake area of the southern Labrador Trough holds potential for the discovery of economically important massive and disseminated Cu-Ni-PGE bearing sulphide deposits. This conclusion is supported by company, government and university geologists active in the area almost continuously since the 1940's. Recent work by Québec government geologists has discovered key similarities between the Cu-Ni-PGE occurrences at Retty Lake, and the Cu-Ni-PGE deposits in the southern Raglan District in the Ungava region. Rockland Minerals' claims cover key stratigraphic horizons that are on-trend with known Cu-Ni-PGE mineralization at the Blue Lake, Centre and Pogo massive sulphide lenses. Rockland's goal is to discover additional mineralized lenses (on-trend) and in turn develop the Retty Lake area as the next major mining camp in the Labrador Trough.
