Project - Schefferville Gold Property

The gold property is made up of claims in NE Quebéc, near the town of Schefferville. Gold found in the Ashuanipi sub-province area is in association with sulphides in silicate iron formations and/or silicate-rich facies of the oxide iron formations. These gold-bearing iron formations, unknown prior to 1985 and still inadequately explored, appear to be analogous with known gold-bearing iron formations of the Homestake (South Dakota 28 million oz), Jardine and Contwoyto Lake (Lupin) mines. Rockland’s gold claims cover known anomalies discovered by the Quebec government geologist and claims originally staked by the Iron Ore Company of Canada (IOC).

Recent drilling by a neighbouring company (2009) yielded very positive results, including 7.11 m of 5.56 g/t Au. The drilling intersected gold mineralization in two of the three areas tested.

Rockland plans an extensive ground prospecting and geophysical program in 2010, followed by drilling.
